About Us

We are excited to announce the opening of our new Japanese restaurant, Kamado. After moving to this vibrant country two years ago, I quickly realized how difficult it was to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. With a strong desire to offer “the same taste, at the same price as in Japan,” I set out with my team to create Kamado. Here, we deliver genuine Japanese quality at approachable prices — each dish capturing the spirit of Japan, its seasons, and its pride. I hope to offer a small moment of wonder, and a little journey to Japan, right here in Dubai. I look forward to welcoming you to Kamado.

About KAMADO restaurant

OUR Interrior design

We asked a Japanese designer living in Dubai to design the interior of the restaurant, which is reminiscent of a Japanese diner (SHOKUDOU) that the average Japanese person can casually visit. We aimed to create a relaxing space with a calm interior, subdued lighting, and no flashy decorations. We hope that you will feel as if you are in Japan, the far-away, easternmost part of Asia, for just a moment.

About KAMADO restaurant

our food philosophy

Our restaurant focuses on balance, moderation, and mindfulness. Meals are typically composed of a variety of dishes, including rice, miso soup, vegetables, and fish, aiming for nutritional harmony and portion control.

In Japan, there is a term called the 1000 yen wall. It is an industry term that means that if a restaurant’s menu exceeds 1,000 yen (about 25 Aed), it is too expensive and customers will decrease. So, what about the price of Japanese food in this country? There are many Japanese dishes that cost 50 Aed or 70 Aed, not 25 Aed per dish… When I told my Japanese friends that ramen costs 60 Aed (2,400 yen) in Dubai! 70 Aed (2,800 yen), they were surprised and couldn’t say a word. In addition, the dishes served as Japanese food are so unusual that Japanese people would ask the staff what kind of food it is. We decided to open this restaurant with the desire to provide Japanese food that you can eat when traveling to Japan at Japanese prices to those who eat Japanese food in Dubai. The Japanese owner himself supervised the restaurant and gave detailed instructions to the chef, and we opened the restaurant with the confidence that we could provide perfect Japanese food. Please enjoy real Japanese food.

Our mission

Another characteristic of Japanese food is that there are many healthy dishes. Japanese food = healthy, this is a universally recognized concept. Please enjoy KAMADO’s healthy Japanese cuisine, which can be enjoyed with peace of mind even by those who are concerned about their health!
